I watched a biography of Dolly Parton. I heard her use this quote numerous times.
As educators, we are in a position to make a difference in the lives of others every single day. We have the opportunity to encourage a student who is struggling, support a colleague who needs a helping hand, listen when a parent needs to be heard, or simply remind someone that they matter. Education is about so much more than curriculum. It is about people, relationships, and the impact we have on one another. We may not always know what someone is carrying, but we can choose to be the person who offers kindness, compassion, encouragement, or support. When we are in a position to help, we should, because sometimes, what feels like a small act of kindness to us can make a big difference to someone else.
